Challenges Faced by Women Entrepreneurs:
An important study by the Institute of Social Studies Trust (ISST) and the Initiative for What Works to Advance Women and Girls in the Economy (IWWAGE) has shown us the challenges faced by women entrepreneurs in India. This research tells us that most women entrepreneurs have small businesses, whether they live in cities or villages. It also tells us that there aren’t enough programs to help women in villages to establish their business, so very few of them do. One big reason for this is that there aren’t enough people to provide mentorship to these women. The study also shows us that old ideas about how women should act and what they should do are still a big problem for women who want to run their own businesses in India.
